The Sierra High Route (SHR), for the most part, runs along the crest of the Sierra Nevada and is far away from urban centers. Aside from the occasional jetliner or man-made satellite cruising through the sky, there is minimal light pollution. It is a perfect area for stargazing and capturing the night sky on film.
During the first week of July 2016, I hiked Section 1 of the SHR with a couple of friends. One of my secondary goals on this adventure was to photograph the Milky Way and star trails at locations where we camped.
Enjoy!
